The Show

Trumanitarian is a search for a new humanitarian paradigm, that can meet the challenges of the future. Through smart, honest conversations the show seeks to shed new light on what the humanitarian sector is – and what it should be.

The leitmotif of Trumanitarian is elegantly captured by Zimbabwean artist Sibo in the theme song “Cycles of Outsiders”

The Host

Lars Peter Nissen has worked in the humanitarian sector since the late 1980s. He has experience from a wide range of NGOs, UN agencies and the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement and has lived in a number of crisis affected countries from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. His day job is to be the Director of ACAPS. He hosts Trumanitarian in his spare time.

The Producer

Rigmor Tholstrup has a background in project management at The Why Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing free global access to reliable, documentary-based information. She worked briefly at UN-OCHA in Geneva before joining Trumanitarian. Rigmor strives to kick Trumanitarian into a new gear, delivering even more inspiring and thought-provoking episodes to the show and she does so with the energy, can-do and no-nonsense attitude of an early career, driven professional who brakes for nobody.

The Artist

It’s about the rights and the freedom to be.
For people to choose their path in life and dream.

Souls of men beyond what you see,
stages are different for each, who will lead?

Cycles of outsiders that get fat checks
fly in and out of places with slums in jets.

Ask better questions pick apart, educate.
No one is safe we are here to build and debate.

We are, we are
searching for more.

Open up your minds, beyond rich or poor,
for the truth

You’ve been warned
Trumanitarian.
